Scope
Vascular Biology considers submissions of basic, mechanistic, clinical and translational original research and reviews, covering:
- Physiological processes: vascular development, vasculogenesis, angiogenesis; vascular / endothelial heterogeneity; mechanisms of vascular/endothelial homeostasis; vascular stem cells; vascular remodelling; microvascular (dys)function; determinants of linage specification and maintenance
- Repair processes in health and disease: wound healing; vascular regeneration; cardiac regeneration and repair
- Cardio-vascular diseases: vascular inflammation, angiogenesis in disease (including tumour), wound healing; vascular malformations; micro and macro angiopathies; micro and macro vascular diseases; cardiac diseases, endothelial cell dysfunction
- Molecular pathways: mechanisms of gene regulation, transcription, epigenetics, in cardiovascular cells
- Microvascular pharmacology: therapeutic strategies including targeted drug delivery; molecular response of the microvasculature to treatment
- Metabolism: endothelial cell metabolism
- Translational aspects: imaging, cell-, gene-, RNA based therapies, novel targets
- Bioengineering technologies in (cardio-)vascular research
- Genetic models: articles providing the detailed characterisation of genetic animal models used across the field.
