Vascular Biology cover image

Vascular Biology considers submissions of basic, mechanistic, clinical and translational original research and reviews, covering:

  • Physiological processes: vascular development, vasculogenesis, angiogenesis; vascular / endothelial heterogeneity; mechanisms of vascular/endothelial homeostasis; vascular stem cells; vascular remodelling; microvascular (dys)function; determinants of linage specification and maintenance
  • Repair processes in health and disease: wound healing; vascular regeneration; cardiac regeneration and repair
  • Cardio-vascular diseases: vascular inflammation, angiogenesis in disease (including tumour), wound healing; vascular malformations; micro and macro angiopathies; micro and macro vascular diseases; cardiac diseases, endothelial cell dysfunction
  • Molecular pathways: mechanisms of gene regulation, transcription, epigenetics, in cardiovascular cells
  • Microvascular pharmacology: therapeutic strategies including targeted drug delivery; molecular response of the microvasculature to treatment
  • Metabolism: endothelial cell metabolism
  • Translational aspects: imaging, cell-, gene-, RNA based therapies, novel targets
  • Bioengineering technologies in (cardio-)vascular research
  • Genetic models: articles providing the detailed characterisation of genetic animal models used across the field.
